1. Byron Bay Ballooning

This one hour Byron Bay adventure activity should be something you do at least once! There are a range of flights available from Byron Bay Ballooning. From sunrise flights, to group and VIP packages, even a flight combo where you take a balloon ride and then a tandem skydive for an extra thrill.

3. Byron Bay Hang Gliding

Byron Bay is home to a couple of places where you can have a fantastic hang gliding experience:

  • Byron Airwaves Hang Gliding School – tandem hang gliding for 30 minutes with an experienced instructor over Byron Bay’s scenic coastal national park or Lennox Head.
  • Byron Bay/Lennox Head Hang Gliding – tandem hang gliding with Peter Aitken, an experienced instructor who used to fly competitively, over Cape Byron Nature Reserve or the ocean at Lennox Head. They offer 30, 45, or 60 minute tandem flights.

4. Whale Watching From Above Flight

If whale watching from a boat sounds awesome, why not try whale watching from the sky? Take to the air with an experienced pilot in a microlight aircraft to watch humpback whales that travel north to their winter home from Antarctica after a summer feeding season.

These marvellous animals stop by Byron Bay every year between June and November and it has become one of Australia’s premier whale-watching spots. To fly with an experienced pilot you need to be older than 15 years or accompanied by an adult and weigh under 15 stone 10 pounds (100 kg). Check out this link for more details.

5. Circus Arts

There is something special about taking the ultimate leap of faith while flying through the air. So if you’ve always fancied being a professional trapeze artist or you have kids that like to defy gravity then this is an adventure activity for you and your family. It could also be an interesting date activity for couples!

Circus Arts Byron Bay is a 1200 sqm indoor space that offers a 10m high flying trapeze, as well as a great range of circus programs for all ages. Children have their own corner and school program packages, as well as an opportunity to have a memorable experience with their parents.

For adults you can book in for a casual drop in class or they can tailor tailor group packages for a special event and have different party packages, including the Ringmaster special which includes the high flying trapeze as well as walking the tightrope, juggling, aerials, and acrobatics.
