10 Best Places to Satisfy a Sweet Tooth in Byron Bay

One of the fun parts of a holiday is being more relaxed on the food choices we make. For some people that might mean enjoying a delectable piece of cake, ice cream, chocolate or any other of the many yummy desserts and sweet treats you can find in Byron Bay.

Here are 10 of the best places (in no particular order) where you can seriously satisfy your sweet tooth!

1. In the Pink

If you have never tried gelato, then you’re missing out— it’s next-level ice cream. The Italian delicacy is made on site at In the Pink with both local ingredients and imported items from Italy. Reviews on Facebook rave about the shop’s range of ‘droolworthy’ flavours from violet crumbles, to the more traditional chocolate fudge.

This family-owned business sits near the beach in the Byron Bay town centre at 20A Jonson Street.

2. Love Byron Bay

Are you a chocolaholic? Then scoot over to Love Byron Bay and be prepared to spend time trying to decide what you’ll try because there are so many amazing chocolate-y options, including vegan.

The crêperie and chocolate boutique is according to the Facebook reviews, “a wonderful place for a snack and well recommended.”

The shop offers both savoury and sweet crepes as well as a large selection of chocolate, so you can stop by here for a break from the beach or duck in during a shopping trip in the town centre. You won’t regret it!

Located at 2 Lawson St., Byron Bay. 

Bonus: There’s online shop so if you can’t stand the thought of not getting your chocolate fix from Love until your next holiday, you can get it shipped to your front door.

3. Manna Haven

Not all desserts in Byron Bay contain sugar and flour, so if you’re looking for something that tastes decadent, but are organic, raw or vegan (or a combination), then head to Manna Haven Cafe. The restaurant’s cooks minimise the amount of sugar and refined products, according to the website. You’ll find lots of vegan, gluten-free and raw options, which change daily. You might find raw red velvet cheesecake, dark chocolate Oreo mousse cake or salted chocolate tart.

Since Manna Haven has a full menu, you can stop here for dinner complete with dessert or stop by to pick up a dessert to enjoy back at the campsite.

4. Suffolk Bakery

Less than five minutes by car or a less than 40 minute walk from Broken Head Holiday Park (bonus!), Suffolk Bakery is worth stopping by during your visit. You’ll find a range of yummy desserts here, such as tarts, slices, cakes, pastries and more. You can either do takeaway and save the treats for later, or you can add in some excellent coffee and sit down to enjoy your delicious dessert. (Plus while you’re here you might want to plan on a second visit to have breakfast or pick up bread to pair with cheese and wine for a snack.)

5. L’ultime Patisserie & Chocolaterie

Stop by this French bakery to tempt your sweet tooth with macarons, fruit tarts, brioches, almondine and more. Spend time checking out the glass cases filled with the yummy pastries—plus you can get a fresh baguette while you’re there to add to a meal back at your campsite. (That justifies going there more than once, right?) Trip Advisor and Yelp reviewers practically swooned over the almond croissant, ricotta cheesecake and pear tart, amongst other pastries.

While these shops are mostly just focused on bakeries, ice creams or other dessert selections, we would be remiss if we didn’t note that there are a long list of affordable restaurants in Byron Bay that would serve memorable meals that you could end with one of the dessert options above. 

6. Bella Rosa Gelataria

Bella Rosa Gelateria and Espresso Bar in Byron Bay makes delicious gelato on-site using natural ingredients. They have dairy-free and gluten-free options as well as unique flavours like boysenberry blush. They also have hot drinks, milkshakes, and smoothies.

The Bella Rosa Gelateria and Espresso Bar is only a short drive from Broken Head Holiday Park. A perfect excuse to head out in the evening for a tasty treat.

7. Footbridge Cafe

If you’re ever in Brunswick Heads, be sure to swing by Footbridge. They’ve got great coffee and even better desserts, all made with organic, locally-sourced ingredients. Plus, it’s the perfect pit stop before heading to the beach or river for a swim. They are also rated high on TripAdvisor boasting a score of 4.6 from over 270 reviews!

The Footbridge cafe is located at 1/14 The Terrace, Brunswick Heads and only a 40-minute drive from Broken Head Holiday Park.

8. Wafflo Cafe

Wafflo serves all kinds of yummy waffles including savoury and sweet. They also do milkshakes, smoothies, and specialty coffees. All of their ingredients are organic and locally sourced. Their waffles are perfect for any time of day, and the shakes and smoothies make a great dessert or snack.

Wafflo is located at 1 Lateen St, Byron Bay just a short drive from Broken Head Holiday Park.

9. YoFlo

If you’re looking for a refreshing alternative to gelato, be sure to check out YoFlo, a frozen yoghurt and fruit bar. The concept is self-serve, so you can grab a cup, fill it with your choice of tasty toppings, and then pay by the gram. YoFlo has become a popular Byron staple, thanks to its wide range of vibrant colours and flavour combinations.

10. Tropical Fruit World
