One must-try on the menu is the omelette roll as well as the freshly baked pastries and muffins. Opened in 2012, this Byron Bay breakfast café sits beachside in the suburb of Belongil and features excellent fair trade coffee and Marvell Street teas in addition to a host of delicious breakfast menu items.

With a large sampling of vegetarian and some gluten free options, Belongil Bistro caters to everyone in your family. Whether it’s a plate of house banana bread with butter and local honey, or ‘Pea Perfect’ (warm smashed peas, Danish feta, mint and poached eggs on toasted quinoa bread), there’s sure to be something you will enjoy.

5. Town

Town is in super hip Bangalow, just a short 15 minute drive from Byron Bay and worth the trip. A visit here would allow a family on holiday in Byron Bay to soak up all that Bangalow has to offer after noshing on sweet breakfast treats and drinking Paul Bassett coffee.

Named one of the Hot 50 Restaurants in Australia in 2013, Town sits in one of the beautiful buildings on the main drag, Byron Street, and is split into two sections, Downtown on the street level for coffee, breakfast and lunch and Uptown on the upstairs level for dinner at night.

Located in the heart of Byron Bay, Succulent Café opens at 7 am every day.
